Identifying causes of European natural hazard loss increase year-on-year:Climate change or something else?

In the insurance industry, a commonly held assumption is that losses are increasing over time due to climate change alone. However, there could be several causes for changing losses. We seek to diagnose the increase of insured natural catastrophe losses year on year between multiple causes:  economic inflation, building vulnerability, changing exposure distributions, and other drivers including climate change.
